Orchid Care: 7 Points to Remember

Orchid Care: 7 Points to Remember

Orchids are relatively low-cost flower plants. Flowers can last for three months or longer in most cases.

Don't be put off by their exotic appearance. It belies their toughness and tenacity. Orchids flourish in a state of neglect. They commonly grow in tree crevices in the wild!

1.A single drenching Immerse the pot in lukewarm tap water for about 30 seconds to water the plant. Then tip the pot a little to drain all the water from the bottom before putting it back into its decorative container.

2. Orchids do not like to have their roots soaking.

3.When the orchid has finished blooming, position it in indirect light. While the plant is blooming do not have to worry about the light condition. You can place it wherever it looks best.

4.    Do not cut off the orchid bloom stem unless it is completely brown. Since it may produce a second stem

5. Add a very small amount of orchid fertilizer to the water of a non-blooming plant every 3 months or so.

6.A plant in bud or bloom should not be fertilized. Orchid plants grow in a sunny spot on the deck throughout the summer. After a rainstorm, remember to empty the pans.

7.The roots of orchids hate being disturbed. Apply a little medium to the surface of pots where the plant seems to be brittle. Often handle the plant by the pot rather than the stem to prevent loosening the roots.
